Are you planning a visit to Dublin soon and looking for fun and different things to do during your time in the city? Don’t worry, you will be arriving at one of the greatest cities in Europe, and there is a lot to see and do while you're here. Keep out of the usual touristic routes and make the most out of your trip by enjoying some of the unique events happening in Dublin during September 2022. Here's a guide to things happening in Ireland’s capital for the next month:

 

Watch a stand-up comedy show at an iconic Dublin Pub

The Stag’s Head is one of the coolest pubs in Dublin City Center, but besides serving amazing pints, this bar is also a local’s favorite when looking for some laughs. Every Sunday and Monday evenings, at 8:00 pm you can visit the pub to watch live comedy shows, organized by The Comedy Crush company. There are no tickets or bookings, so make sure you are there for eight to queue for a place, there is also free ice cream during the breaks of the show.

Take a free Musical Dublin Walking Tour

Ireland is famous for its musical heritage, with a vast legacy that has inspired many generations. While visiting Dublin you have the chance to learn more about the musical history of the city, and how it has shaped Ireland to this day, all explained by a local musician. The Musical Walking Tour starts at The Old Storehouse Bar, at 3 Crown Alley, Temple Bar, and goes to important sites around the city, musically and historically. Participants will also have a chance to hear stories about Dublin through songs and traditional Irish tunes. You can joy the walking tour every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday of September at 2:00 pm, there are no fees

Go for Yoga classes in the park 

September is still hot enough to enjoy Ireland’s outdoors while visiting, so why not take some time to relax your body and mind at a Yoga class in one of Dublin’s parks? During this whole month you can joy classes happening every Saturday morning, 11:00 am, and Wednesday evenings, 6:00 pm, at Dartmouth Square in Ranelagh, 15 minutes walk from the City Center. Yoga sessions are also happening on Sunday mornings at 11:00 am at St Anne’s Park in Clontarf, another scenic spot in the city. There is a €10 fee for each class that can be paid in advance at @happeningsireland’s website, or on the day.

Drink & Draw class at The Grand Social bar 

On the 23rd of September 2022 at 6:00 pm, you can take a drink & draw class, “Paint like Banksy”, to get creative with friends or yourself. The event lasts two hours, and you will also learn about the history of the mysterious street artist and be inspired by his artwork. No experience or personal materials are required, drinks are allowed to help with your inspiration and you can grab them from the Grand Social Bar, where the class takes place. You can book a place in the class on the event’s page for €26.00.

The Dunlin’s BEFF festival 

The Bohemian’s Environmental Justice Film Festival will be taking place in Dublin between the 8th-11th of September 2022. It is the first full festival to focus on the stories of people and communities on the verge of the fight against environmental catastrophe. Screens will be showing movies from Irish and other international movie makers that used the environmental crisis as a topic for their work. The festival will be showing the movies at the Lighthouse cinema at Smithfield, and an outdoor screen at Dalymount Park in Phibsborough, both very close to Dublin’s City Center. Tickets cost between €5 €15 and can be purchased on the festival’s website.
