Q. Do you offer luggage storage?

A. We have a free luggage room available to store the bags before checking in and/or after checking out.

Q. Is there a locker available for every guest?

A. Yes! Each bed has its own individual locker which requires a padlock to close it. In case you don't bring yours, not to worry: we sell them and other items at reception.

Q. Are towels and bed sheets included in the price?

A. All the linen is included, and you will find your bed made, tidy, and fresh upon arrival. Towels are only included in the private rooms, guests staying in the dorms can rent them at reception.

Q. Can I park my car in the hostel?

A. We provide safe and private car park space. The spot must be booked in advance to guarantee availability and payment is made upon check-in, by cash or card.

Q. Is there a smoking area?

A. We have a smoking area that you are more than welcome to use. Smoking inside the building (room or common areas) is strictly forbidden and will result in a €250 fine.

Q. Is the room quiet?

A. Since we are not a party hostel, most of the time we hear from our guests that they had a great night's sleep. This may vary according to the type of room you book: bigger dorms are more likely to have noisy fellas around. But no worries: we have earplugs to purchase at reception to make your stay more comfortable - just pop in! :)

Q. Do you provide hairdryers and irons?

A. Yes, you can borrow them for free at reception and we’ll just need your ID as a deposit while you’re using them.

Q. Is there a kitchen that I can use to cook my own meal?

A. We have a big and well-equipped kitchen that you can use, with plenty of space to cook and store your food. At Gardiner House Hostel the gas is closed durign the night (oven and microwave are available). In both hostels, kitchen closes for cleaning (timetable located at doors).

Q. Does the hostel have any laundry facilities?

A. Yes, our laundry room is open from 7 AM until 9 PM, and all you need is to buy tokens at reception for the washing and dryer machines. Each token costs you a fee and you can also purchase a washing tablet if necessary.

Q. Can I buy a travel adaptor?

A. We sell adaptors for the Irish sockets  at reception, but some bunk beds also have a USB entrance.

Q. Is the WI-FI free?

A. Sure! Free and available all over the building.

 

BREAKFAST

Q. Is breakfast included in the price? What time is it served?

A. At Gardiner House you have free breakfast every day from 7 AM until 10:30 AM. Otherwise, in Garden Lane Backpackers we do offer a free complimentary breakfast from 8 AM ultil 10:30 AM.

Q. What is included in the breakfast provided? Do you offer any vegan options?

A. Gardiner House buffet breakfast is composed of white & brown bread, different types of cereals, different flavours of jams, butter, cream cheese, Nutella, milk, orange juice, coffee, chocolate powder and fruits. Please click here to find out the vegan & vegetarian options included.

Q. If I leave before breakfast starts, may I have breakfast?

A. Unfortunately we do not offer a takeaway option in this case. Although, since we provide food storage space in our kitchen area and supermarkets are just a 5-minute walk away from us, you can always do some shopping and prepare your own breakfast the way you like it.

What's more: our kitchen and free coffee station are open 24/7 which means coffee, tea, chocolate powder and milk are available to all guests at any time!

 

CHECK-IN & CHECK-OUT

Q. What do I have to present on arrival?

A. A valid passport or driving license (passport only for non-European citizens) is required for all guests checking-in. For security reasons, guests are also asked to present a credit/debit (nothing will be charged upfront). If you don't want to provide a credit/debit card details, a transaction of €30 per person will be needed, which will be refunded upon check-out in case there is no damage done.

Q. Can I check-in before 3 PM?

A. Early check-in is subject to availability and a surcharge may apply. Please, contact our front desk for further information.

Q. Until what time is it possible to check-in?

A. Gardiner House reception operates 24h, so after 3 PM guests can check-in at any time. Garden Lane Backpackers opening time varies, please, contact our front desk for further information.

Q. What time is check-out?

A. You should leave the room and return your key to our reception at 11 AM, although you are more than welcome to stay in the common areas until 3 PM on the same day. Late check-out is available until 2 PM (subject to availability and an additional fee).

 

BOOKINGS PAYMENTS

Q. How do I cancel my reservation?

A. For direct bookings or booking via our own website (via www.canbe.ie), you have the option to cancel them from the confirmation email you received from us at the moment of the booking. For all other reservations, the only way is to cancel through the channel where you originally booked. Make sure to read the cancellation policy in advance to avoid any disappointments. Please, contact our front desk in case of any issues.

Q. I want to change/cancel my booking. How to require for refund?

A. For direct bookings (via www.canbe.ie), you have the option to cancel/modify them from the confirmation email you received from us at the moment of the booking.

Refundable: Modification/Cancellation required 2 days previous check-in date.

Non-refundable: No refund is available in case of cancellation, modification or no-show.

For all other reservations, the only way to cancel/modify is through the channel where you originally booked. Make sure to read the cancellation policy in advance to avoid any disappointments. Please, contact our front desk for further information. 

Q. What is the minimum age for staying in the hostel? 

A. The minimum age to check-in is 18 years old. Minors, between 8 and 17 years old, will only be accepted when accompanied by an adult and cannot share dorms with other guests outside their group. Kids under 8 years old are not allowed in any case.

Q. What are the accepted payment methods? Can I pay in cash?

A. We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express. Please note there is a 3% surcharge when using Amex. Cash payments are only accepted for walk-in reservations (but the security deposit must be in credit or debit card).

Q. What is Security Deposit and How it works?

A. Guests are also asked to present a credit/debit (nothing will be charged upfront). If you don't want to provide a credit/debit card details, a card transaction of €30 per person will be needed. In case of Walk-In Reservations a security deposit of €50 is taken in card transaction. Groups of +4 guests must pay a security deposit of €30 per person in one card transaction. Groups +12 guest must contact the property as the security deposit is taken previously via Pay2Sender (by Prommpt). Security Deposits are refundable upon check-out in case there is no damage done.

 

LOCATION & DIRECTIONS

Q. Is there a bus stop nearby that goes from/to the airport? How much does it cost and how often does it come?

A. Yes, there is. Bus number 16 or 41 will drop you just around the corner from Gardiner House Hostel. Bus number 41 goes straight to the airport and the stop is right across the street, (2-minute walk from the hostel). It runs 24h every 20 minutes and the price is €2.60, payable only with coins or ticket (you can buy it in any grocery shopping).

 If you are staying at Garden Lane Backpackers, you may also take bus number 16 or 41, drop at Dorset Street Lower and get bus number 13 or 40, which will drop you only 5 minute's away from our place.

Q. How close is the hostel to the city centre?

A. Gardiner House Hostel is located just 12 minutes walking distance from O'Connell Street and 20 walking distance from the Temple Bar, while Garden Lane Backpackers is 13 minutes away from Temple Bar and 24 minutes away from O'Connell. 

 Q. Do you have any recommendation places, where to go and what to do?
