It’s official, spooky season is here and there is no better time to be in Dublin! Ireland is where Halloween started as a way to celebrate the end of the harvest, and the tradition was spread around the world by Irish immigrants. Here is a complete guide on what to do in Dublin in October 2022 from shows to parties cultural events, and newly open bars.

Bon Iver concert at 3Arena - October 16th 

The indie folk band Bon Iver, led by the singer Justin Vernon, will be performing in Dublin in October 2022. Natural from Wisconsin, in the United State, the group will play their songs, like Skinny Love and Hurricene, at one of the most amazing venues in the Irish capital, 3Arena. Tickets go from €89 to €324, and you can purchase them on StubHub's website

Dublin Theatre Festival - until 16th of October 

Dublin holds the oldest theatre exclusive festival in Europe, happening every year since 1957. Multiple sites around the city put on their best special productions, and it’s a big chance to see the best companies in the country in action. To see the full program go to their website. Participants theatres include Abbey Theatre, Gaiety Theatre, Gate Theatre, Pavilion Theatre, Draicht, and Civic Theatre. The festival takes place from September 29th to October 16th, 2022. 

 

Halloween Fancy Dress Party - October 29th

The amazing Grand Social Bar will be holding a Fancy Dress Halloween Party to celebrate the holiday in the best style. Live music and different Djs promise to keep the night up and the dance floor full. dress code includes, of course. your scariest and fanciest Halloween customs, prizes will be given to the best dressed. Whiskey Blending Experience 

Ireland is the land of whiskey and you cannot visit the country without experiencing some amazing whiskey blending. The tour starts with a guided walk through the Irish Whiskey Museum, in Dublin, where visitors will learn about the history of the unique drink. You will then have your palate put to test with a tasting of four different types of whiskey, all while listening to its heritage and production process. Visit Dublin’s Bar of the Year 

We all know Dublin is famous for its many bars and pubs, so it’s hard to pick which one to visit while in the city. In 2022, Bar 1661 won the prize of Bar of the Year in Ireland, and should definitely be on your list of things to do in October. This charming and modern cocktail bar is located in Dublin 7, just 10 minutes walking from the City Center, and has a brand new menu with 32 signature drinks, each one inspired by a different landmark in Irish history.

Copper Face Jacks Halloween Night - October 31st

This is one of the most traditional Halloween club parties in Dublin. The venue holds parties every year and has enough space for all the party monsters out there looking for fun. In previous years, the club gave away cash prizes for the best costumes, so make sure you put all the effort into your production. The space counts with three floors, many bars, a restaurant, and everything else you can expect from a good nightclub.
